Uthman Ibn Affan

`Uthman,` Uthman ibn `Affan ibn al-Aas ibn Amia ( Arabic : ) or, more frequently Uthman ibn Affan ( 579 - 656 ), is the third caliph of Islam. He succeeded Abu Bakr and Omar and reigned from 644 to 656.

Under the caliphate of 'Uthman, the Muslim territory grew considerably, especially in the year 27 AH, ( 649 ), where many African and Spanish territories were conquered, but Uthman went unpopular in certain areas under its authority including Kufa in Iraq by banning people and often changing the governors of these regions.

New problems arose: four types of differences appeared on the text of the Koran. 'Uthman then decided to formalize a copy of the Koranic text and establishes a single classification of suras from each other. To this end, in the year 25 AH, (+ 647 ), (fifteen years after Muhammad's death), he appointed a commission to prepare several copies (Digital Pocket Qur'an) of the Koran. These copies prepared, 'Uthman had them send various important points of the Muslim territory .
