Usul Al Fiqh

The Usul al-Fiqh (ar. ) are the sources of Islamic law.

They are traditionally divided into two categories: firstly, that the basic sources are the Qur'an and Sunnah , on the other hand, sources derived, the qiyas (ar. ), or analogical reasoning, and ijmd ( ar. ) consensus of qualified lawyers or community ( Djama , ar. ) on a given topic.

These four sources are supplemented by the use of personal opinion, and the inclusion of custom.
