Student Movements
Several events, political, marked the university and presented as a bastion of extreme right. These suspicions are still in our minds.
The university can not deny that it was the scene of remarkable political demonstrations. The movement west , violently anticommunist , was banned by decree on 31 October 1968 (dissolved by the Council of Ministers ), following the daily street fights with his opponents on the left. He was replaced by the Union Defence Group (GUD), active student organization at the university (French correspondent of Nationalistische Studentenvereinigung ). Although few, the members of these groups continued to face the forces opposing political representatives of the board throughout the 1970's and 1980 to lower activity in the late 1990s.
The rising power of the opposition forces, with the section PSA ( For a self-managed unionism ) 1970s - and the majority position of the UNEF , likened to a "force left" student elections between 1990 and 2008, marked a turning point in the political history of Assas. A few years ago, a union SUD-Student is rising, but failed to maintain over time. Since the elections on April 8, 2008, prevails in the central councils ASSAS.net Association, an association which defines itself as apolitical.
Although the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF) could terminate in a statement sent to Agence France-Presse in February 2005 increased activity of the "far right" after the creation of the Student Right Rally This association did not submit lists to the central council elections on 8 April 2008, and is no longer visible in the various centers of the university.
