The University of South Toulon-Var is a public university located in Toulon in France. It began operation in 1979 , and has locations at Toulon , La Garde , Saint-Raphael , Valletta , and Draguignan. The university specializes in teaching in science and technology, law, economics, sports and humanities, and trains some 10,000 students in these areas.

Summary

History

The first components of lessons in 1968 settled on a farm of 20 hectares. This property, mid-forest mid-vineyard, originally housed the Chateau St. Michel, the former summer residence of the lords of the Guard in the sixteenth century. This domain was sold to the city of Toulon, who made the university grounds. . In early November 2009, Laroussi Oueslati resigns.

The University of Toulon is not part of the 500 best schools or universities ranked, globally, by Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2008. (Academic Ranking of World Universities). She is the 1076th place overall "Ranking Web of World Universities July 2010" (67th place among French universities) which ranked 12,000 schools and universities based on the volume and quality of their electronic publications .

The Graduate School No. 509 is the only graduate school located on the campus of the University of South Toulon-Var. It focuses on a theme in keeping with the scientific strategy USTV: the "Civilizations and Societies Euro-Mediterranean and compared. It covers all areas of the Humanities and Society present at the USTV: Law, Humanities, Economics, Management Sciences, Computer Science and Communication.

Created July 8, 2008, the College of Graduate Studies is responsible for coordinating, promoting doctoral studies within the institution, and ensure cooperation with the various structures of the institution and with partner institutions in part of the development of a site policy.
