The University of Technology of Belfort-Montbeliard (UTBM) is a public institution of higher education and research located in the cities of Belfast , Sevenans and Montbliard (Region Franche-Comte , in France ).

Overview

History

UTBM is formed by the merger of the engineering school of Belfort (ENIB) founded in 1962 , and the antenna of the Compigne University of Technology established in 1985 to Svenans , become "Polytechnic Sevenans (IPSE) in 1991. UTBM was founded in 1999 . It belongs, like the University of Technology of Compiegne and the University of Technology of Troyes Network of Universities of Technology

University of Technology of Belfort-Montbeliard is a EPSCP . Its provisional administrator Christian Lerminiaux.

UTBM is a member of the Confrence des Grandes Ecoles Training of engineers

UTBM is empowered by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research after the notice of the Committee on Engineering degrees to issue the following engineering degrees:

  • specialty auto, electronics and industrial data
  • Specialty computer
  • Mechanical Specialty
  • specialty production systems

  • specialty electrical engineering apprenticeship and partnership with the ITII Franche-Comte).

Admissions

Admission to the UTBM occurs at two levels:

  • Admission to post-baccalaureate (S, STI, STL or equivalent), through the portal-postbac admission application and interview. The application is common for the 3 Universities of Technology French .
  • Admission to bac +2 possible for students holding a DUT , a license , a BTS , or have completed a preparatory class and is by application and interview.

International

UTBM participates in international exchange programs such as Erasmus, and has signed bilateral cooperation agreements with universities in the major regions. UTBM students can go to European universities, the USA, South Korea, China ...

University of Technology of Belfort-Montbeliard also welcomes international students for one or more semesters.

Route

The training lasts five years. The first two years form the preparatory course in engineering education, named core. It is sanctioned by the Deutec (University degree in technology).

The next three years are the branch. There are 5 to UTBM:

  • Computers
  • Electrical Engineering and Control Systems
  • Engineering and Management Process
  • Mechanics and Design
  • Ergonomics, Design and Engineering Mechanics

and 2 sandwich courses:

  • Electrical engineering apprenticeship
  • Logistic learning

Each student has the opportunity to achieve one or more semesters of teaching in a partner university abroad.

Internships

During his term, the student UTBM has the opportunity to realize a set of courses in France or abroad:

  • "Stage worker" takes place between the first two semesters of the Common Core.
  • "Long-term professional internship, which takes place during the third quarter of branch.
  • "Project Graduation" that takes place during the last half of industry and validates the diploma.

There is also the possibility of an internship abroad.

Four minors are offered:

Research

UTBM is distinguished by a research in cohesion with the industrial environment of North Franche-Comt: Land transport and energy. Strong local industrial sites (PSA Peugeot Citroen, Alstom, GE ...), University of Technology of Belfort Montbliard weaves strong links with industry in order to develop research.

Of these, three are joint units with the CNRS. UTBM participates in Carnot label FEMTO-Innovation .

  • The Office of Sports (BDS), which offers a range of sports of all kinds.
  • The Student Council (CETU), which proposes to make the link between the administration of UTBM and students on various topics.
