The University of Orleans is a University public French , whose campus is located in Orleans la Source , about ten kilometers south of the city of Orleans, in the department of Loiret and the region Centre. It is served by three judgments of the Line A of Tramway Orleans : Chateau University, University Park-Floral-L'Indien University. The campus is also directly connected to the center of Orleans with the line 20 (bus) network SEMTAO.

Summary

History

Cathedral of Orleans School

From the eighth century, notably under the direction of Theodulf Orleans , Bishop of Orleans and simultaneously abbot of the abbey of Fleury ( Saint-Benoit-sur-Loire ), the Abbey of Saint-Memin Micy and Abbey of Saint-Pierre-aux-Oxen (Abbey of St Aignan of Orlans), teaching in the Orleans was gradually organized parochial schools, monastic schools and cathedral schools, designed to train professionals of the Carolingian Empire Education Law from 1235

From 1235 , the city of Orleans was authorized by Pope Gregory IX to teach Roman law .

Old University (1306-1793)

The University of Orleans was established on 27 January 1306 by Pope Clement V , becoming the fourth French university after Paris, Toulouse and Montpellier.

In the Middle Ages, it is best known for his teaching of civil law or Roman law , celebrated the renovation of the Review of Corpus Juris Civilis , which is then conducted by postglossateurs. Indeed, under a bubble of Honorius III , it was forbidden to teach Roman law at Paris, where only the canon law was on the agenda. There was no fixed place of course, but the lessons were held in various buildings around the church of Saint-Pierre-le-Puellier. The faculties of the Imperial University (1808-1815)

It was decided from 1959 , to install Orleans la Source in a dozen kilometers south of the Loire , an area of nearly 400 hectares, a university campus . Minister Pierre Sudreau speaks of the " Oxford French "," the first European university campus, "the Paris-Press-L'Intransigeant resumed under the name" Oxford-sur-Loire .

On 2 August 1960 has created a Scientific University (CSU), depending on the Faculty of Paris. He moved to the castle from the Source.

A municipal school of law is established in November 1962. A center of higher education literature (CESL) is open to turn in 1964.

The decree of 14 April 1966 has created a university "in the Academy of Orleans. " The University now brings all university courses organized Orleans but also at Tours , the faculties of law, literature and science are split .

But the movement in May 1968 caused the separation between Tours and Orleans, formalized on 1 January 1971 , .

The University of Orleans includes progressively Faculty of Science (1961), Law (1968), letters (1969) Sports (1992), a University Institute of Technology in Orleans (1967), Bourges (1968), Chateauroux (1992), Chartres (1996), a University of Leisure (1977) and two engineering schools (ESEM ESPEO in 1982 and 1992), which merged in 2002 to form the Polytechnic Orleans ( Polytech'Orlans ).

In 2004 the University of Orleans joined the University Centre Loire Valley Association (law 1901). In 2009 she founded and joined the side of the University of Tours, the NEAR : University Centre Val de Loire.

Law, Economics and Management

Law Department

Under the four-year contract (2008-2011), the Law School of Orleans is empowered to issue certificates of license or master who appear now with a statement which may include several specialties, which can be divided into several courses.

Licensing

The license fee may be followed to the Law School in Orleans or the antennae (academic centers) of Bourges and Chateauroux.

  • Licence in Law (BA with two different tracks: general law or European law).
  • Licence in Law, History (Letter attached to the Faculty and the Faculty of Law)
  • Licence in Economics and Management.

Master

Masters word "Law" proposed by the Law School of Orleans can be tracked career path (former DESS ) or search path (former DEA ). Some are open to learning or host people in training.

Science and technology of physical activities and sports

The UFR STAPS is located north west of campus, tram stop University Chateau, alle du Chateau. Educational buildings are framed on the north by the university gymnasium on the east by the prospect of the castle and the south by the sports hall .

Training

By integrating device Licence-Master-Doctorate (LMD), UFR STAPS joined the European area of higher education and research.

The license is organized into four terms:

  • Adapted Physical Activity and Health ;
  • Education and motility ;
  • Sports training ;
  • Sport Management ;

Two professional degrees are offered:

  • LP Specialty STAPS Social Development and mediated sport
  • LP STAPS Specialty Management and organization of events, shows and sporting events ;

The Master of Science, Technology and Health is backed by the laboratory "Motor activity and psycho-physiological adaptation (AMAPPE) and contains two lessons:

  • Ergonomics of the motor, professional purpose ; research purpose
  • Performance and adequate physical activity - health professional purpose ; research purpose

The Doctor backed the AMAPPE is attached to the Graduate School Humanities and society

Research

The UFR STAPS based on its new laboratory "Motor activity and psycho-physiological adaptation (AMAPPE) .

Common Services

The UFRSTAPS performs for university functions of two common services:

  • Department of Physical activities, sports and expression (DAPS) (analogous to academic services department of sport and physical activity from other universities)
