The University of Artois is a French university founded in 1992 (Decree No. 91-1160 of 7 November 1991) and localized in several sites in northern France (Arras, Bethune, Douai, Lens, Lievin). Its headquarters is located at Arras. Old antenna Lille universities , the University of Artois is a member of PRES Universit Lille Nord de France.

List of Presidents

  • Alain Lottin , professor of modern history, President from 1991 to 2000, first as interim director and then as president.
  • Jean-Jacques Pollet , professor of language, literature and civilization, Germanic, President from 2000 to 2005, appointed as rector of the Academy of Rouen before the end of his term.
  • Jacques Sys , professor of language, literature and civilization British, president from 2005 to 2006, resigned before the end of his term.
  • Morzewski Christian , professor of contemporary literature, president since 2006.

IUFM

The IUFM Nord-Pas-de-Calais since 1 January 2008 an internal school at the University of Artois. Its headquarters is located at Arras. Before its integration at the University of Artois and the reform abolished IUFMs was the second of France by its number of students and student teachers. It has several sites:

Common Service Documentation

The CPC, which is deployed on five areas where the university has settled, historically includes eight libraries (one at Arras , two in Bethune , one at Douai , two in Lens and two Lievin - Angres ).

Since 1 January 2008, IUFM Nord-Pas-de-Calais, who joined the University of Artois, the CPC also includes seven documentary mediatheques Network Education and Training (RDEF) (one to Arras , one at Douai one at Gravelines , one Outreau , one at Valenciennes and two in Villeneuve d'Ascq ).

Libraries of different poles of the University are developing their funds in connection with the instruction provided on each site.

Research

The University of Artois has 15 laboratories accredited by the scientific leadership of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, or CNRS. In these laboratories, teacher-researchers (professors and lecturers of universities) and doctoral work in the production of knowledge and knowledge in all scientific fields represented (social sciences, life sciences and earth; Applied Science, Technology and Engineering; economics and law). The University of Artois has also established a publishing house Artois University Press to promote and disseminate the most important scientific laboratories.
