Ubay ibn Ka'b ibn Qays ( Arab : ) also known as Abu Mundhir (Mundhir's father) was a companion of the Prophet Mohammed of Islam and a very important personality of the first Muslim community.

Biography
Ubay was born in Medina (also known under the name of Yathrib ) and was part of the tribute of Banu Khazraj. It was the first to accept the Islam and pledged allegiance to Muhammad al-Aqaba before the Hijra to Medina and participated in the battle of Badr.
He was also one of his scribes and wrote letters for him. He was one of the few who wrote the quran in a Digital Pocket Qur'an (book which is written the Quran) of his own Viewpoints Ibn Hazm was included in the list of Sahaba who saw Mut'a Nikah (temporary marriage) as lawful . In a hadith, the Prophet Muhammad says: "Learn the Qur'an from four persons: Abd Allah ibn Masud , Salim Mawla Abi Hudhayfa , Ubay ibn Ka'ab and Muadh ibn Jabal . " He said in another hadith: "The best player of the Koran in my Ubay ibn Ka'b community is! . " He is well regarded by Shiites because he refused to swear allegiance to Abu Bakr As-Siddiq .
