Thomas Rmer Christian theologian is a German born in 1955. He holds a degree in theology from the University of Heidelberg in 1980 and a doctorate in theology from the University of Geneva in 1988.
He is Professor of Old Testament at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Lausanne (UNIL) , and the Institut romand Science Bible (IRSB) attached to it. He was appointed professor at the College de France in 2007.
His work has helped transform the vision of training and the dating of the Pentateuch and the establishment of Jewish legends about the fathers, Abraham in particular.
