Technical College
In France , the vocational school (LP) is a vocational school that offers vocational education in relation to the business of business , to acquire skills, knowledge and know-how in a professional field. Its goal is the professional integration.
The vocational schools were established in 1985 in response to vocational education schools (SMP).
Some vocational high schools are called colleges of business "following the reform Mlenchon 2000. The school of business is an institution whose identity is drawn around a generating unit of the same professional sector (sales jobs, hospitality, automotive trades like ...), (clothing, textile, textile art and fashion ...) or complementary (trades of the sea). It is unusual to offer training to audiences of varying status: students (training), apprentices (sandwich course) or trainees (training).
The diplomas are preparing two or three years depending on the case:
- Second career for vocational studies certificate (BEP) or first year of professional aptitude certificate (CAP)
- Terminale BEP year or two CAP
- Baccalaureate professional two years after the BEP and three years after the third class from the beginning of 2009.

Teachers LP belong overwhelmingly to the body of vocational school teachers (PLP). The documentation certified teachers (librarians) , and PE teachers may be assigned by statute. Sometimes there are also certified teachers in particular technical disciplines and exceptionally few professors aggregate.
The LP is headed by a headmaster sometimes assisted by a deputy and a leader of work , responsible for managing vocational education.
