The synagogue of Madrid is the first built in Spain since the expulsion of Jews in 1492.
The emigration of Sephardic Jews from North Africa in the 1960s brought back the Jews in Spain , where for the first time since 1492 , has built a new synagogue which was officially opened in Madrid December 16, 1968 (the first synagogue Midras Abarbanel was established in 1917) even though no religious freedom had been authorized a year ago .
