Synagogue Huseifa

Huseifa the synagogue is a Jewish place of worship located on the old Mount Caramel, south of Haifa , which is only partially known.

/ / Description

The hall of worship measured 10.1 x 11.5 m, with an entrance facing west: it was pillared with two rows of pillars which only one is released. The ground was covered with mosaic pavement which some fragments remain important: one of them, corresponding to the central panel of the composition, represents a zodiac , while the corners were decorated with personifications of the seasons.

Two inscriptions have been found: one near the door, carried the text "(That) Peace (is) to Israel." She was flanked by two menoroth of lulav and a garland. The second entry was a dedication in Aramaic References
