Background

To mark the twentieth anniversary of the encyclical " Populorum Progressio, "Pope John Paul II devoted an encyclical to the theme of this encyclical with two goals, to honor this historic document of Paul VI and to reaffirm the continuity of the doctrine social of the church at the same time as its constant renewal.
