Sogyal Rinpoche
Sogyal Rinpoche (Sogyal LAKAR) Lama is a Dzogchen tradition of Nyingma of Tibetan Buddhism.
Born in the province of Kham (eastern Tibet) in 1947 (1950 according to his French passport), he was adopted soon after the second marriage of his mother by Jamyang Khyentse Chokyi Lodro .
Since August 2006 he opened a retired semi-close to 3 years for 150 to 300 of his Western students.
Sogyal Rinpoche has also been an actor in the film of Bernardo Bertolucci's Little Buddha. He plays the role of Khenpo Tenzin early in the film.
