Simon Claude Mimouni

Simon Claude Mimouni, born 26 April 1949 at Bone ( Annaba ) in Algeria , where he has taught since 1991. He studied the history of the formation of the movement of the disciples of Jesus in and out of Judaism in the first and second centuries, including the first community of Jerusalem. He is currently the Journal of Jewish Studies and the Collection of the Journal of Jewish Studies : one and one published by Editions Peeters. He was treated for many years the delicate and difficult question, but oh so fundamental, the "Jewish roots" of Christianity, because Christianity is a kind of Judaism - Messianic Judaism course, centered on Jesus of Nazareth regarded alternately as as prophet and messiah, then as a character only divine or purely human or both human and divine, which was forced to reform many of its precepts and observances. Currently, among his research, he focuses his attention on the history of ideologies whose religious foundations and political developments - including Prophetology messianologies and Judeo-Christian, which have profoundly marked Islam in its origins and evolution. It thus attempts to uncover the foundations of political societies "modern" whose roots actually date back to antiquity and religion called "monotheistic" - the policy which it accepts or not is essentially religious ( see for example the case of Marxism in its application "Soviet" was inspired by the functioning of the Russian Orthodox Church, the worship of the "Fathers of the Revolution" corresponding to that of "Saints"). He is preparing a book on Jesus of Nazareth in situating the tradition and history, he does not want to be a biography, impossible to write a historian point of view. It instead addresses the work as many folders around the question: What can a historian say about the eponymous founder of Christianity based on the documentation submitted by tradition, virtually the only available? His other projects include the history to the Christian community of Jewish origin in Jerusalem between 30 and 135 - research that he hopes to take the matter of a book.
