Shem Bible
Sem (in Hebrew ( "Name, fame, prosperity" to pronounce Chem) is a character in Genesis (9, 18-27).
Biblical History
Shem is with Ham and Japheth son of one of the three Noah. It is the ancestor of Abraham and son of one, Isaac and Ishmael , hence the name of Semites given to descendants of these patriarchs Bible.
Following a fault of his son Ham, Noah cursed the descendants of the latter, especially that of his son Canaan , his commitment to the easement of Shem (Gen 9,27). The son of Shem will therefore take the land of Canaan.
According to the Bible, her life was 600 years.
