Summary

Sexuality in the Jewish sources

Sexuality in Biblical literature

The Bible mixes throughout its 24 books and stories injunctions related to sexuality. The duty to " increase and multiply , given to all creatures, appears from the story of Creation Contraception

In traditional Judaism, contraception is permitted except in certain cases and for a defined period. Indeed, the birth control goes against two foundations of Judaism:

However, the duty of piri verivya not concerning women, female contraception is generally permitted by Jewish law . This type of contraception, oral or mechanical, already permitted by Amoraim still requires the approval of a competent rabbi prior to use .

Other currents, including the Masorti Movement and Reform Judaism are more permissive. ,

Homosexuality

The homosexuality is forbidden in Judaism. The Torah even wrote a special term when speaking of homosexuality , "abomination" (Leviticus, 18, 22, 20, 13). The Torah prohibits many relationships, including the one with the animal , but the only abomination is the relationship called unisex.

Masturbation

Male Masturbation

The Jews gave the progressively developing its importance to masturbation male and more specifically to a loss of fruitless seed. Already the Torah describes in Genesis 38, 9-10 death Onan , son of Judah , caused by his refusal to sleep with his wife Tamar (who was the former wife of his dead brother) to give offspring to his brother. The Torah says that Onan wasted his seed on the ground, something that does not please God that killed him.

The Judaism sees the seed of a potential life , so a man who does not use its seed wisely is something of a murderer. He killed a potential life.

We must expand what has been said by adding that Judaism is that the seed used to something, or birth , or to maintain relationships between a man and his wife. Thus, even if only one sperm on millions will develop a fetus , even if the woman is pregnant and that intercourse never took any new being, even if the woman is over age or state of birth etc.., the man with the responsibility to pass his seed to his wife (to maintain a frequency with respect to their sex).

At the time of the Talmud , some said that masturbation is a male prohibition contained in the prohibition of "thou shalt not of adultery "or" you and keep you from every evil thing. " Some have even cataloged this fault in bad manners.

The Kabbalah sees in masturbation male unforgivable fault (although it says this thing as a deterrent to the fault of the man , and more that the principle of repentance is a cornerstone of Judaism ), and explains that the seed that a man ejaculates in vain leads with Lilith of angels evil.

In order to remove the man from this serious fault, the man will avoid erection of the penis. For this, no man has the right to touch his genitals if it's the end of urination , and under the following rules: a man singles will not even allowed to touch his penis (within catch it by the tassel and not the top of the penis), lest the heat (the man who married the possibility of sexual satisfaction ), but he will be allowed to touch his scrotum ( Shulchan Aruch 3, 14 to 16 and Mishnah Berura ).

Even the nocturnal pollution is considered a fault , the sages of Israel teaches that its source is in fact the sexual thoughts that al ' rights during the day , so it is a sign of bad thoughts, are themselves serious faults.

Squirting

The Judaism is much more moderate in regard to masturbation female until the permit, although some makers have it banned.
