Samih Al Qasim
Samih al-Qasim (born in 1939 in the Jordanian city of Larkah ) is a poet and journalist Palestinian.
Biography
His father, an army captain border, was stationed in Jordan. A native of Ramallah in Palestine, his parents come from a family of intellectuals and Imams Druze. After high school in Nazareth , Samih al-Qasim began studying philosophy and economics at Moscow , he interrupts to devote himself to poetry, activism and journalism. He held important positions in several newspapers and magazines appearing in Arabic (Al Ittihad, Al Ghad, Al Jadid). He also heads the publishing house Arabisk. These activities earned him a jail several times, fired from work or subjected to compulsory residence. It has, in recent years, popular director of the Foundation of the Arts in Haifa.
