Saint Cyr
Saint Cyr designates several saints Christians :
- Cyr Alexandria martyred in 311 with John of Alexandria and Athanasia , accompanied by her three daughters Theodotus (or Theodotus) Teoctist (or Teoctist) and Eudoxia. This saint is little known in France but he is revered in Rome and Italy. Physician of Alexandria , persecuted because he was using his profession to better spread the religion, he sought refuge at Canopus , but he was arrested and put to death in 311. That's what St. Cyr, who gave his name to Abu Qir (literally "Saint-Cyr" in Arabic ), where his relics rested then. It honors the January 31 (main party) and 28 June (translation of their relics of Canopus at Alexandria in 412 by the patriarch St. Cyril ) References
