Sabra Israel

Sabra (in Hebrew : ) refers to Jewish people born before 1948 in the territory of British Mandate Palestine and their descendants in the people Israel. By extension this means all Jews born in the Land of Israel.

The word derives from the Hebrew Tsabar ( prickly pear ), referring to the sweetness of the fruit behind the prickly desert plant, like the Israelis assumed that generation.
