Romanus Iii Argyre
Roman Argyre III ( 968 - 11 April 1034 ) was Emperor Byzantine of 12 November 1028 to 1034. He was the son of small-Argyre Roman and his wife Agathe Lecapenus, herself the daughter of Roman I. Lecapenus.
On his deathbed, Constantine VIII, arranged the marriage of his daughter Zoe with a senator of Constantinople, Roman Argyre already quite old and married (his wife had to mow and agree to enter a convent for the Roman death threats , could ascend the throne).
Unable to perform his office with little political experience and military Romanus III decided to campaign in Syria in in 1030. There was miserably defeated and devoted himself, now on administrative tasks, in which he did not know either become competent.
He then turned to the church building and had built the great church of the Virgin Peribleptos "all-seeing", and a monastery next door. The outrageousness of these two constructions eventually draw the people against him.
He died at the baths, perhaps from the hand of Zoe, the Good Friday April 11 1034. There is uncertainty about the causes of his death as he fell ill shortly before his death - possibly due to poisoning - it is not known whether he died naturally or drowned. Zoe installed on the throne once his lover Michael IV the Paphlagonian.
