Robert D Hales
Robert Dean Hales was born on 24 August 1932 in New York , the United States. On 7 April 1994 , he became an apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after the death of Marvin J. Ashton. Currently (2009), it is the eighth-oldest apostle in the ranks of the Church.
As a member of the Quorum of Twelve, Robert D. Hales is regarded by the Church as prophet, seer and revelator. His father Rulon Hales was a successful artist.

Born in New York City , New York , Robert Dean Hales grew up in Queens. Robert Dean Hales graduated from the University of Utah and Harvard Business School. Robert D. Hales was the pilot of USAF. During his career, Robert D. Hales served in leadership positions in four major companies. After joining, Gillette Co., he became president, Papermate, a division of Gillette. Then he joined 'Max Factor' as Vice President and later was leader of "Hughes Television Network. Just before his call as a General Authority , he was president, Chesebrough-Pond's. "
As a native of New York City, Robert D. Hales is often the reference person for the Church on matters of the city. He was involved in some planning projects of construction of the Temple Manhattan New York.
He married Mary Crandall, sophomore in college in Queens, and they have two son.
Responsibilities in the Church
Robert Dean Hales was president of the Mission of London , England in the late 1970s. He also served three times as bishop local Weston , Massachusetts , Chicago , Illinois and Frankfurt , Germany and as president of the branch of Seville , Spain.
Robert Dean Hales is a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles since April 2, 1994. Before being ordained apostle , Robert D. Hales has served as the eleventh Bishop President 'of the Church between 1985 and 1994, as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy from 1976 to 1985 and as Assistant to the Quorum of Twelve Apostles in 1975 and 1976.
