Paul Charles Rene de Saint-Marceaux, born at Reims on 23 September 1845 and died in Paris on 23 April 1915 , was a French sculptor.

Summary

Biography

Grand-son of the mayor of Reims, Augustin Marie Paul de Saint-Marceaux , he was a pupil of the sculptor Franois Jouffroy. He was elected member of the Academy of Fine Arts in 1905.

Saint-Marceaux married in 1892, Lucie Marguerite Jordan (1850-1930), widow of the painter Eugene Baugnies (1841-1891), which she inherited wealth and whose music room at 100 Boulevard Malesherbes rivaled that of the princess Polignac , she served as a model among many others the character of Mrs. Verdurin in Search of Marcel Proust Works
