Ramsay Macmullen
Ramsay MacMullen (born in New York in 1928 ) is professor emeritus of history at Yale University where, from 1967 until his retirement in 1993 , he taught as of History and Classical Antiquity. His research focuses specifically on the social history of Rome and the replacement of paganism by Christianity.
MacMullen is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and graduated summa cum laude from the Harvard University.
In 2001 , during its annual meeting, the American Historical Association honored him by giving him the Award for Scholarly Distinction for his lifelong dedication to research and designated as "the greatest historian of the Roman Empire now living " Main works - French Language
