A Rebbe (pronounced Yiddish Rebbi, who also gave Rabbi ) is a "master teacher or mentor." This title is given to the leader instead of a movement Hasidic. In agreement with the Yiddish pronunciation, stress is placed on the first syllable and the final e is sometimes reduced to a schwa.
