Operation
The People's University of Caen was founded in October 2002 by Michel Onfray. If the conference's offerings are grouped by subject on the model of a real university, it is not recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education , does not require registration to listeners and does not issue diplomas. The speakers are not required to possess the necessary qualifications to higher education.
The conferences are held in several locations in Caen and its suburbs: CDN Normandy theater of Hrouville-Saint-Clair , Muse des Beaux-Arts de Caen , Panta Theatre, Coffee Mancel and Space Puzzle.
They are free and open to all.
