Pierre Gisel

Pierre Gisel, born in 1947 in Geneva , is a theologian Swiss.

Professor at the University of Lausanne since 1976, where he carried out most of his career. He has published numerous books, mostly published by Labor et Fides , but also the Presses Universitaires de France , and elsewhere. First fully located in the Christian theology , his research has gradually led to the comparative study of Judaism , of Christianity and of Islam. He also wrote about the status and social function of religion , on the recomposition of the religious current, and the Philosophy of Religion.

Biography

After a bachelor's degree obtained in 1959, Pierre Gisel studied in theology at the University of Geneva. These studies were supplemented with stays at German universities of Marburg and Tbingen. He earned a doctorate in theology in 1975. Her thesis was published in 1977 under the title Truth and History. Theology in modernity, Ernst Ksemann. ^{Books and Publications}
