Pantheon

The Pantheon is a temple that the Greeks and Romans spent some of their gods , such as the Pantheon in Rome , dedicated to all gods. It also includes all the gods of mythology or religion. In ancient Greek (pan) means "all" and (theos) "god".

By extension, called Pantheon, where a monument are deposited the bodies of illustrious men of a nation. The painter Raphael initiated this practice in 1520 based on the Pantheon in Rome , an example that was followed in the Pantheon in Paris and other places.

In the ancient times , cities were created under the auspices of a city's patron god (deity Polias "), and the founder boasted of being the son of a god (especially the Greeks). The national pantheons additions were added unto them foreigners, and the Egyptians adopted Astarte , the Romans Isis , the Greeks modified the pantheon of other nations to stick to their own, the Phoenicians greeted Hathor (Lady of Byblos ), and Asians all had a Baal Nationally, Carthaginians adopted the Greek gods, etc..

We know more about the pantheon of the Greeks and Romans. Us that the Egyptians is also fairly well known (the Egyptian pantheon should be considered spiritually different from those of Greece and Rome ).
