Old Orthodox church in Wuhan

The Orthodox Church of China or Chinese Orthodox Church was from 1956 to 1962 a legally independent of the Orthodox Church in China canonically attached to the Patriarchate of Moscow and All Russia. She is currently without episcopal leadership.

Martyrs of China

1713 Establishment of the first Russian Orthodox Mission in China.

1902 The head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in eighteenth China, Archpriest Innocent Figourovski gets the title of Bishop of Pereslav.

1922 Creation of the diocese of Beijing (with vicariates of Shanghai and Tianjin ) and the Diocese of Harbin (vicariates of Qiqihar and Hailar).

1934 Integration of the Vicariate of the Diocese of Beijing Xinjiang.

1945 Training on the territories of China and Korea in a metropolitan district headed by Metropolitan of Harbin and East Asia.

1946 Reorganization of the metropolis into a Exarchate of East Asia comprising the dioceses of Beijing, Harbin, Shanghai, Xinjiang and Tianjin.

1956 Autonomy of the Church of China granted by the Church of Russia.

1957 Chirotonie Moscow from primate Archbishop Basile (Shuang), Bishop of Beijing and China.

1962 Death of Bishop Basil.

1965 Death of Bishop Simeon, Bishop of Shanghai.
