Olivier Revault Allonnes

Olivier Revault Allonnes (born 30 July 1923 in Paris , died on 6 March 2009 to Trguier ) is a philosopher and esthetician French.

After its aggregation , he argues in 1972 his PhD doctorate of State on artistic creation and becomes a lecturer and professor at the University of Paris 1. Long-time director of the Journal of Aesthetics and co-director with Mikel Dufrenne editions 10/18 Collection "Aesthetics" in the year 1970 , he played such an important role in the dissemination and recognition of the Frankfurt School and especially the work of Theodor Adorno in France.

Sensitive thinker "vanguard" in the singular and irreducible originality, aesthetics, where his seminary in the evening, successive generations of students in philosophy (and attended, among others, Mark Jimenez , Jean-Marc Lachaud or Rainer Rochlitz ) combined, in direct confrontation with the works - the Beethoven and Schoenberg in particular - the largest intellectual rigor and humor never at fault.

Olivier Revault Allonnes is the author of several books on music, but also established the critical editions of the writings of Eugene Delacroix , of Maurice Denis and Francis Picabia. Since 1989 , he was professor emeritus at the Sorbonne.
