Nicodemus
Nicodemus is one of the first disciples of Jesus. Pharisee and member of the Sanhedrin , Nicodemus appears three times in the Gospel of John : he will listen to his teaching ( Jn 3. 1-21 ), he took his defense when he was manhandled by the Pharisees ( Jn 7. 45-51 ), he helped Joseph of Arimathea in the burial ( John 19. 39-42 ).
Its name means in Greek nike "victory" and demos, "people." It probably comes from the transliteration of the Hebrew name, Niqdamon Worship Nicodemus is a saint of the Catholic and Orthodox. Local festival on August 3. References
