It consists of two parallel zones:
- Firstly, a terrace of twenty feet above the Touch, including two woodlands, twenty hectares of vineyards, a mansion "Chateau Rouge", a farm house and its annexes, the terrace is bordered by the canal St. Martory ;
- Secondly, twenty acres of meadows and crops.
In October 1955 the final draft of the structure is adopted by the Ministry of Agriculture.
There are three groups of buildings:
- A first group for consultations and hospital
- A second devoted to teaching and research (six buildings with a floor in a semicircle around a central group comprising lecture halls and tower library)
- A third group comprising the campus and athletic fields.
Introduction of campus to the French population
The new school is presented on television in the agricultural magazine March 17, 1967 (see external links).
As can be read in the article by Pierre Taverne published in 1968, "New School has been designed to meet the changing needs of education and scientific research. With a capacity twice the previous one, with large and modern laboratories, it has the ability to grow in line with progress of science and economic needs .
The campus established in 1964 is presented in French architecture in 1970 .
A modern campus in accordance with the style of Toulouse
The land of 42 hectares on a gentle slope running down to the Touch allows the separation of services in many flags. It has a structure more concentrated around a central building, the buildings are distributed to take advantage of the space acquired and allows to consider future extensions. The center of the school is occupied by the library and lecture halls. Between the central administration, lecture halls and the campus is laid out a vast botanical garden.
The city school has 360 rooms spread over 4 buildings and a restaurant with large windows opening onto the valley Touch .
This American campus has 3 distinct inputs to separate administration, consultation and education city, which is an innovation compared to the former Veterinary School of Toulouse.
This campus is marked by modernity in comparison with the former Veterinary School of Toulouse, for example with large windows horizontally rotating axis, double-glazed curtain strips embedded between two panes, giving a great lighting and perfect ventilation of rooms, and also a gas boiler heating independent for each flag, carried out by heating ceilings with the exception of building library and lecture halls heated by forced air. Basins with water jets are also expected, as seen in the video of the INA (external link).
All buildings are constructed of solid brick veneer and concrete elements apparent hammered, and the roofs are tiled Romance in respect of the style of Toulouse.
