The National School of Mineral Industry (ENIM) is one of the oldest and most prestigious engineering schools in Morocco , it is also known under the name "National School of Industry and Mines. The ENIM is a member of the Conference of Grandes Ecoles French (GCE). The course lasts 3 years and admission is via the common national contest (CNC) after completing two or three years in preparatory classes.

In the limited places available candidates can be admitted to this title and by level:

  • Tray 2: Bachelor / CUE or equivalent
  • Tray 3: New License
  • Bac +4: Master of Science and Technology or Old License
  • Bac +5: Master science or technology.

Summary

Main Missions ENIM

  • Form of state engineers and doctors.
  • Developing continuous training.
  • Conduct research activities and expertise.
  • Achieve international cooperation activities.

History

Founded in 1972 , the ENIM had at first main mission is to train engineers for the mining and mineral industry. Thus, between 1975 and 1983, more than 400 engineers were trained in the areas of Mining, mineral processing, and more than 60 engineers in the field of metallurgy. In 1983, ENIM saw the creation of two new departments, namely the Electromechanical Energy and Chemical Engineering. In 1990 the department was created. Also by 1990, an education reform has taken place to accommodate the removal cycles preparatory years in engineering schools and the creation of centers of preparatory classes for grandes coles (CPGE) nationally. And training in schools has increased from six to three years, and some specialty programs have been reviewed and adapted to this new system and new needs: the Chemical Engineering Department Energy was converted into Industrial Process Engineering.

The skills developed by the school are very different from the outset, and the school has evolved over time to become today a school called "generalist".

Specialties

ENIM has a total of 15 options:

  • Emergency Operation Planning of Soil and Subsoil (AEPSSS (Mining))
  • Environment and industrial safety (ESI)
  • Computer Engineering (IM)
  • Production systems (SP)
  • Electromechanical (ELM)
  • Industrial Maintenance (IM)
  • Mechanical Engineering and Development (GDM)
  • Industrial Management (MGI)
  • Engineering processes (IP)
  • Energy Systems (ES)
  • Materials and Quality Control (MCQ)
  • Geotechnical Engineering Hydro (HG)
  • Renewable energy (RE)

Continuing Education and Research

ENIM activity is not limited to the training of engineers of state but also opens new horizons such as:

  • A Master Degree in "Computer", accredited by the Confrence des Grandes Ecoles, in collaboration with INSA-Lyon.
  • A Master Degree in "Management of Innovative Projects" in collaboration with ENSGSI and INPL.
  • The "Chancellor's MBA cluster, designed for senior executives, in collaboration with City University of Los Angeles.
  • Of continuing education seminars for: OCP, ONA, ONE, Managem ...
  • Various international seminars in collaboration with laboratories of repute.

At the research laboratories ENIM hosted several research activities that led to the patenting of inventions.

Departments in detail

ENIM lessons are organized into six departments of specialty, in addition to the core.

  • Mines Department: trains engineers with versatile skills in the face of disciplinary problems and what doctors using engineers in the mining sector with experience quite rewarding, ranking this department on the first nationally in level of engineering education Minor.
  • Electromechanical Department: trains engineers design mechanical, electrical, electronics, hydraulics ... This department contains three options:
  • Electromechanical option
  • Industrial Maintenance
  • Mechanical Engineering and Development
  • Department of Computer Science: provides training for systems engineers able to study the computerization projects, developing computer applications, manage data centers, manage databases and networks ... The department has 2 options:
  • Computer Engineering
  • Production systems
  • Department of Materials Science: provides training in metallurgical engineering and materials science focused around the mining and preparation of metal forming: casting, plastic deformation, corrosion and protection means, materials characterization ...
  • Department of Earth Sciences: provides basic training in geology and provides opportunities for specialization in mining geology, hydrogeology and geotechnical engineering.
  • Industrial Process Engineering Department: trains engineers in chemical engineering energy. The department offers two options:
  • Process engineering
  • Energy Systems

And two other departments:

  • Industrial Safety and Environment Department: provides training of engineers specializing in environmental and industrial safety, and WASTE MANAGEMENT.
  • Industrial Management Department: trains engineers specialized in particular areas of design production systems of goods and services, planning and operations management, improved productivity and implementation of technological change.

CPR and Doctorate

ENIM is empowered to issue the certificate pre Research (CPR) and the Doctorate in Applied Science (habilitation).

Admission is open to the RPC state engineers, it is prepared in 2 years.
