The school now has a network of over 12,000 engineering graduates, present in all sectors of the economy. Besides the initial training of engineers, INSA Toulouse for training missions, scientific research and its recovery. He suggested that effect of research masters and doctorates issue.

The NHI is currently his diploma engineers in 10 specialties, who may become, subject to clearance by the Securities Commission Engineer (CTI), 8 for the new academic specialties 2011.

The reception and support of diverse audiences are among the values and cultural identity defined by the founders of INSA Toulouse and carried by the school principal. INSA Toulouse and account for 40% of students in 1st year, 33% fellows, 23% foreign students. The school's commitment to promote diversity is also reflected in international curriculum, special sections (musicians, dancers, athletes), commitments to disability, or openness to new audiences (Bac STI, learning).

Summary

Admission

The institute recruits engineering students following admission securities, records, and possibly maintenance, at all levels.

In 1 st year

Admission to 1st year is on track at Bac, record and possible interview. Recruitment is common to the 5 INSA (Lyon, Rennes, Rouen, Strasbourg, Toulouse) and two partner schools (ENSI Bourges and Limoges ENSCI).

Several selection devices are based on the degree of candidate:

  • S bin issued by France
  • Bac STI STL or issued by France
  • Bac abroad or examination recognized equivalent diploma of access to university entrance

The NHI also recruit in the first year of athletes (must be registered to the Ministry of Youth and Sports ) and candidates with disabilities, whose admission is governed by special provisions.

Grade 2

For students pursuing studies in a French institution, recruitment is also on record and possible interview. It is open to students who have completed a first year Bachelor of science or those who are admitted in 2nd year of CPGE

Concerning foreign students, studying the case is determined case by case basis, subject to a certified level in French.

In Grade 3

Admission to Year 3 is the minimum Bac +2. Recruitment is common to the 5 INSA (Lyon, Rennes, Rouen, Strasbourg, Toulouse). Applicants must demonstrate a minimum level Bac +2: OTC CPGE, BTS, L2 or recognized equivalent (120 ECTS), L3.

Selection is made on application explicit two more specialties. The review of the record (notes and assessments obtained from the baccalaureate degree inclusive) is possibly supplemented by interview.

In Grade 4

Recruitment, specific to each NHI is restricted to holders of a Master of Science and students with a M1 level or recognized equivalent.

Note that there is a specific recruitment in 2nd and 4th year for applicants with disabilities.

Training

INSA Toulouse offers ten engineering programs accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research after the opinion of the Securities Commission engineering . The duration of the course depends on the year entering school: 5 years post admission tray, 4 years for admission into a tray, etc..

In September, subject to clearance by the Securities Commission engineer , engineering students will graduate in eight specialties.

Curriculum adapted

INSA Toulouse offers music-section studies (EMS), dance-study (open to dancers of all levels) and athletes (NHS) for students to receive timetables managed and niche dedicated to their passion.

Since September 2007 , INSA Toulouse, just like that of Lyon , offers a section for students who have obtained a Bachelor of TSI. This section, called SAF, for Active Science Training takes place in 2 stages: the first two years are a special class for a refresher course in non-technical subjects, then the third-year students choose to specialize in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.

Specialities available

Currently, ten specialties are offered at INSA Toulouse from the 4th year, they will be 8 in September 2011 subject to clearance by the Securities Commission as an engineer. Each is attached to a department that manages the lessons and schedules. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is an exception because hosts three specialties.

International

The opening of INSA Toulouse International translates into more shares, at the campus life and curriculum of students.

Each student spends over 20 weeks abroad, including 12 as a mandatory semesters (approximately 300 departures per year) or internship during the program (approximately 300 departures per year). Students of INSA Toulouse stay mainly in Canada, the United Kingdom, Sweden, USA and Spain. The departure assistance (Erasmus CDEFI, Regional Council, own resources), now affects more than 2 / 3 of international students.

The campus was also highly internationalized to accommodate more than 20% foreign students, including 300 in the exchange programs. The flagship program of recruitment of international students in graduate training are ASINSA (80 students from Southeast Asia), NORGINSA (50 Norwegian students) at year 1, N + I in fourth year.

The ties that INSA Toulouse maintains a network of key partners in Europe, North America and Asia and help ensure the majority of trade:

  • dual degrees
  • exchanges of faculty
  • joint research projects

Multiple institutional relationships also exist, for more casual exchanges in many European countries and worldwide.

A team of 30 people under the leadership of the Directorate of International Relations, is dedicated to hosting foreign students (ERASMUS, Norginsa, Asinsa, N + I, FITEC, Euroregion, etc..) And the sending students abroad (ERASMUS, N + I, FITEC, Euroregion, etc..).

INSA Toulouse also finally falls in two complementary networks dynamics:

  • The near Toulouse (federation of universities Toulousaines) for an increase of framework agreements and promotional efforts
  • NHI Group, offering the opportunity to benefit from opportunities of agreements in the context of major international programs (BRAFITEC, MEXFITEC, etc.).

Associative

INSA Toulouse is known for its extremely rich associational life , students from INSA Toulouse and assimilated some have decided to go all out to help the Association of Eating the Heart. Concerts, collections and many other actions are made in this regard during the year.

The IALI (Association of Engineers of INSA Toulouse) is also very active and aims to:

  • The establishment and maintenance of friendly relations between the Engineers from the Ecole
  • The advice from engineers and engineering students of the NHI on a professional level, and possible aid
  • The development of cooperative relationships with management and the teachers of the NHI
  • Promotion Diploma, as an engineer and spirit NHI

Research

Many researchers, lecturers, graduate students and technicians working in laboratories of the 8 school, contributing greatly to its international reputation:

  • Engineering Laboratory of Biological Systems and Processes (INSA, CNRS, INRA): Biocatalysis - microbial physiology and metabolism - microbial systems and bioprocesses - transfer interfaces and mixtures - separation, oxidation and hybrid
  • Laboratory of Physics and Chemistry of Nano-Objects (INSA, UPS, CNRS): Synthesis of nanoparticles and organometallic chemistry - nanoadressage, magnetism and transport - optoelectronic quantum - chemical and physical modeling
  • Laboratory Materials and Durability of Constructions (INSA-UPS): Innovative materials, ecological building materials, durability of materials and structures
  • Institute of Mathematics of Toulouse (UPS, INSA, UT1, UT2 CNRS): Linear and nonlinear partial differential equations, combustion, fluid mechanics, transport phenomena, Markov processes, probability, statistics.
  • Laboratoire National High Magnetic Field (CNRS-INSA-UPS): magnetism, superconductors, semiconductors, magneto-optics, biophysics, organic semiconductors, nanophysics
  • Laboratory for Analysis and Architecture of Systems : Computer systems reviews, robotics and autonomous systems, micro and nano systems, modeling, optimization and control of dynamic systems
  • Center for Materials Elaboration and Structural Studies: Chemistry of inorganic materials, crystalline materials under stress, nanomaterials and nanoscience
  • Clement Ader Institute (NHI EA - UT3 - ISAE - ENSTIMAC): multidisciplinary approach to system design, optimal design of structures and mechanical assemblies, mini and microfluidics, quality and machining strategy, composite structures

Three themes unite their work:

  • Environmental Health and Sustainable Development
  • Nano-objects
  • Embedded Systems
