Engineer

NHI Rennes2.JPG

INSA Rennes offers a number of engineering programs accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research after the opinion of the Securities Commission engineering . The curriculum is divided into two parts: a core curriculum of four semesters entitled STPI (Science and Technology Engineering, 1 cycle) and special education as an engineer in six semesters within a department of specialization.

Non-scientific disciplines represented 20% of lessons: languages, communication, accounting and financial management, project management, law, marketing, management, physical education and sport. The "individualized personal project" aims to help students throughout their studies to build their career plans, conferences or business visits, and courses on self-knowledge and on the company.

This degree can also be obtained by the procedure of accreditation of prior experience. In addition, the school organizes events for the title of graduate engineer by the State .

Admission

The admission procedure is common to all national institutes of applied sciences. We can integrate the school after the bachelor S or TSI , or equivalent qualifications from other countries . Procedures also exist to integrate the school in second, third or fourth year.

The first cycle

The curriculum STPI-1 cycle is a core curriculum for all engineering students of the first two years. His teaching helps students master the fundamentals of engineering sciences necessary for further studies in a department of specialization. Scientific concepts are studied electrokinetics, electronics, electromagnetism, waves, techniques for engineers, mechanics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science. The lessons are divided into 3 groups of module: Lessons science, mathematics and computer science, and humanities.

At the end of the first year of study, students undertake an internship of one month in worker undertaking to discover the world of work and conditions of the groundwork. This course is mandatory subject to a probation report validated by engineers.

During the third semester, students receive an education in three specialties of their choice among six proposed. This awareness aims to enable students to choose their final specialty knowingly, by means of practical, small projects, company visits or laboratory research or conferences or discussions with professionals or students sector.

During the fourth semester students of INSA Rennes choose a course of pre-specialization from a browse list from 3 or 4 departments. These courses include 4 lessons each specialization. Thus, to enter a department the following year, it is necessary to have followed a pre-specialization from the department you want.

Second Round

At the end of the second year of study, engineering students choose 3 Departments of specialization and rank in order of preference, allocation is on a proprietary ranking. Students can also ask if their results were very good, a transfer to another NHI. Meanwhile many students from IUT, class preparatory or university are admitted in the third year.

There are also semester 5 and 6 a small section on common lessons. The fourth and fifth years are devoted entirely to the specialty of the department.

Late in the third or fourth year, students must make a technical course with a duration of between two and four months in business. And the last semester of study is devoted entirely to the Draft Study End of 16 weeks minimum in business.

Double degree INSA Rennes - ESC Rennes

From the year 2009/2010, the engineering students who have completed their 4th year can do a year of study at ESC Rennes School of Business. Students get to the end of this course a double degree INSA Rennes - ESC Rennes.

This new partnership between the two schools strengthens the existing collaboration, ESC Rennes School of Business and INSA Rennes in fact already offer their students a common course "Business Engineer" also in 5th grade.

Double degree INSA Rennes - Audencia

Since the start of 2008/2009, the engineering students who have completed their 4th year can make a course of 18 months at Audencia. The course combines theoretical knowledge and pedagogical practices and strongly oriented towards international markets, much of the training is conducted in English, in Nantes and in North America. Students get to the end of this course a double degree INSA Rennes - Audencia.

Other

The school also offers seven specialty master's degrees towards Science and Technology research skills with other institutions in the region. This course may be taken in parallel with the engineering curriculum .

In addition, the NHI participates in two graduate schools Brittany .

International

Track International - FIRE

INSA Rennes offers an international stream EURINSA / ASINSA integrated STPI - 1st cycle. Founded in 2000, this international chain consists of approximately 100 students of first and second years. It consists, in equal parts of French students and international students from Europe and Asia (Spain, Romania, Hungary, Moldova, China, Vietnam).

Exchange agreements

INSA Rennes has signed over 100 agreements for cooperation across 36 countries worldwide. The percentage of international mobility of students per class is 65%. The percentage of foreign students on campus is 18%. Students can enjoy various exchange programs:

Research

INSA Rennes is also a research center with five laboratories in the status of joint research unit associated with CNRS and other academic institutions and a host team. Built in Rennes Atalante , and partner with local academic institutions, it contributes to the Rennes site research, technology transfer and innovation among the most dynamic in France Student Life

On the campus of 17 hectares, students receive a home, residences of 4 total of 1000 single rooms, all connected to the Internet at 100Mbit, a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and gyms.

Associations

Rock 'n Solex , the oldest student festival in France
  • Student Associations

Student Life at INSA Rennes is organized as part of several associations:

  • sports association that deals with sports clubs ( climbing , handball , football , volleyball , rugby , tennis , archery , kayak polo , rowing , etc.).
  • The friendly student who takes care of most clubs and events: Rock 'n Solex , one meaning , Gala INSA Rennes , InsaLan , Festival Eye Murky , Weipa (weekend of integration), etc..
  • West Synergy association grouping students in several schools, which organizes the Great Western Forum, the show placements and recruitments in science and technology that takes place each November on the campus of the INSA.
  • the Junior Company West NHI, which offers students the opportunity to complete projects paid for technical professionals. These projects have an educational controlled by CNJE (National Confederation of Junior Enterprises).
  • independent organizations such as African-Insa Exchange with projects such as the humanitarian establishment of a solar village in Togo in July 2008. The Formula Student Association INSA Rennes, which aims to challenge international participation Formula Student.
  • Association of Personal CASI (Social Action Committee) of INSA Rennes aggregates multiple social, sporting and cultural activities.

Arts and Studies Section

The NHI offers an optional quality education in the arts:
