History
The power Abbasid wanted to know who would be the successor of Jafar as-Sadiq. This heir was Ishmael that required him to protect himself while his brother Musa could live more public Medina. The disappearance of Ishmael (which is obscured by the Ismailis ) before his father made this series even more confusing.
On the death of Jafar as-Sadiq for the majority Musa had become the heir, but some felt that the estate was bequeathed to the children of Ishmael, which created the Ismailis. This branch does not recognize the Imam al-Kazim.
Musa was imprisoned in Baghdad and poisoned in prison by the Caliph Abbasid Harun ar-Rashid.
