Muhammad Bin Abd Al Haqq

Muhammad bin Abd al-Haqq ( ) was born on an unknown date. He succeeded his brother Uthman as Sultan Merinid in 1240. He died in 1244.

History

The caliph Almohad `Abd al-Wahid al-Rashid had appointed a governor to Meknes with a mission to combat Merinids. Mrinides Meknes besieged in response, it was a partial success. The successor of Abd al-Wahid al-Rashid, Abu al-Hasan as-Sa `id al-Mu'tadid in turn tried to quell this rebellion Merinid. Muhammad bin Abd al-Haq died in a battle (1244), killed by a militia officer Christian mercenaries (rum).
