Geology

Mount Royal in Montreal.

Mount Royal was formed approximately 125 million years ago during an intrusion of underground magma. This magma has reached the Earth's surface and deep frozen. Hill appeared in erosion by glaciers of sedimentary rocks nearby, more fragile than the metamorphic rock formed by contact of magma and sedimentary rock. The mountain has three peaks: the Big Mountain (234 meters), Outremont (211 meters) formerly under French rule called Sugar Loaf and Little Mountain (201 meters) or Mount Westmount.

Surprisingly, an analysis of this figure reveals that the three hills of Mount Royal, shown in this illustration, are faithfully reproduced. The visit ended Hochelaga, Cartier returned to Stadacona he reached on October 2 and where he spent the winter. During his third voyage in 1541, Jacques Cartier became subordinate Roberval , founded the colony of Charlesbourg-Royal. The following year Roberval arrived at Charlesbourg-Royal, he renames France-Roy. Both this separately, returning to the village Hochelaga then destroyed. They try to ignore the leaps .
