Mosaic Law

The Mosaic Law is the set of precepts given by Moses to the Jewish people as recorded in the Torah (the Five Books of Moses or Pentateuch).

We encounter this term in the Old Testament , and in some passages of the New Testament , as the Presentation in the Temple , or the Acts of the Apostles. The issue of compliance with the Mosaic law was the subject of controversy during the Council of Jerusalem (c. 50 ).

The term is frequently found in old books (from sixteenth to nineteenth century ).
