The Melkite Greek Catholic Church, Melkite Greek Catholic or Melkite Catholic Church is one of the Eastern Catholic Churches. The head of the Church carries the title of Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Alexandria and Jerusalem Melchites, with residence in Damascus in Syria (incumbent: His Beatitude Gregory III Laham since 2000 ).

The title of Patriarch of Antioch is highly competitive and is now also carried by four other church leaders.

In 2009 , the Melkite Catholic community is the second of the East it has 1.3 million followers worldwide, including 700,000 in the Middle East. It is present in all countries of the Levant: in Lebanon : 425,000 faithful, Syria : 170,000 in Jordan : 30 000, Palestine : 54 000 and also in Egypt : 6500. A large diaspora living in Brazil and France.
