The region Mekns-Tafilalet ( Arabic : ) is one of the sixteen regions of Morocco , created after the decentralization law of 1997. It is located in the north. It covers 79,210 square kilometers (larger than the Czech Republic ) and is populated by 2,141,527 Composition

Transportation

The region contains a stretch of highway Casablabca-Fes. The railway linking Marrakech to Oujda through the city of Meknes. The city of Errachidia houses the only airport in the region.
