Maximinus Daia as it was called, or (c. 270 - 313 ) was Roman emperor from 310 to 313.

Biography

Its origins

Nephew of Galerius , he was the son of a shepherd of Thrace and was born in Bulgaria today. He was first a shepherd himself.

His rise to power

Galley is the name Caesar by Diocletian in 305 , when he abdicated. He was proclaimed Augustus in 310. After the death of Galerius in 311 , he divided the empire with Constantine I and Licinius but soon to quarrel with them.

The end

He was defeated by Licinius at the Battle of Adrianople in 313 and sees himself reduced to flee in disguise. He died shortly thereafter in Thrace.

His retirement residence and his family mausoleum are identified arkamen in Serbia.

Much addicted to wine, Maximin was the wise precaution of requiring that only executes the next day he would give orders in drunkenness.
