Marie Francoise Baslez
Marie-Francoise Baslez (born 1946) is a historian French , professor of Greek history at the University of Paris XII.
Former student of the ENS , associate history, working on early Christianity , the Greek novels and history of Judaism in the Greek language, she specializes in social issues of Hellenistic and Roman periods. It applies particularly to the analysis of relations between Hellenism and Judaism , since the translation of the Septuagint until the emergence of Christianity.
Member of the French Catholic Association for the Study of the Bible (ACFEB), she has published numerous books and articles, participated in various anthologies and has edited The early history of the Church for the Gallimard / Le Monde of the Bible. She hosts a seminar at ENS devoted to "Religion and society in the Greco-Roman world."
She received the twenty-firstPrice Chateaubriand for persecutions in ancient times, victims, heroes, martyrs, published in 2007 by Fayard.
