Maariv (Office)
The Office of Religious Ma'ariv or 'Arvit ( Hebrew : -Tefilat 'Arvit or -Maariv) is the prayer of evening that every Jew should do.
The people pray Maariv between the output of the first stars to medium size, a priori, half the night.
This office is composed of several parts:
- Reading of verses of psalms or even psalms integers in some communities and the days of Chol Hamoed
- Shema Israel preceded and followed by two blessings (and Ahavat olam Hamaariv aravim before, and Emet vmouna hachkivnou and after).
- The Amidah or Chemon Essre
- Reading of Psalm 121 (not in all communities)
