List Of Marian Shrines In France

This article lists the sanctuaries Marian ordered by departments of France. It includes sanctuaries (including missing) subject to a devotion to Mary situated on French territory today. Any dates in parentheses refer to the year of creation of the sanctuary, and, where applicable, the year of his disappearance.

These sanctuaries are mostly realized by a representation of Mary ( Virgin and Child , pieta , etc..). They may or may not have been the site of a Marian apparition. The most prominent have been eligible for coronation assigned by the ecclesiastical authority. They are or were the subject of a pilgrimage ( pardon in Britain) Marian. Around them were able to develop various institutions: chapel, church (sometimes elevated to a basilica ), or archiconfrery Brotherhood, a religious institute and various publications.
