- Augustin Bea (1881-1968), cardinal. theologian and biblical scholar , leading figure in the relationship between Judaism and Christianity , the architect of the declaration . Nicknamed the "Cardinal of unity" because of his role with the various Christian denominations before and after Vatican II. Author of Unity in Freedom and The Church and the Jewish people.

- Erich Przywara (1889-1973). philosopher and theologian, influenced among others by Augustine , Thomas Aquinas , Newman and phenomenology. Author Analogia Entis.
- Hugo Rahner (1900-1968). Elder brother of Karl Rahner. Mariologist , specialist Patristics and history of Catholic dogma. Proponent of an approach to Ignatian spirituality based on historical criticism. Author of Genesis and the Exercises Ignatius of Loyola.
- Karl Rahner (1904-1984). Student of Heidegger , Peritus the Council Vatican II, where he exerted a lasting influence. Professor of dogmatic theology, he developed a new conception of soteriology. Cofounder of the journal Concilium and author of the Basic Treaty of faith, it is considered one of the greatest Catholic theologians of the twentieth century.
