La Paz (Baja California Sur)
La Paz is a city of Mexico on the shores of the Gulf of California.
It is the capital of Baja California Sur. It is located on the southern edge of the Bay of La Paz ( 24 08'N 110 18'W / 24133, -110.3 ). In 2000 the population was 163 000.
It is between the coastal mountains and the bay, and is a port. The islands La Partida , Espiritu Santo , and Jacques Cousteau nearby.
Activities include hotels, mines of silver , the agriculture , the fishing and farming of pearl oysters.
