Jubilee Synagogue
Jubilee Synagogue (in Czech : is a synagogue located in the district of Nov Mesto in Prague. Synthesis of different architectural styles (mainly Art Nouveau and Hispano-Moorish ), it is also known synagogue in Jerusalem, named after the street where it is located (street Jeruzalmsk). Built from 1905 is the newest synagogue in Prague.
The site is accessible by public transport (bus and line C of the Prague underground station Hlavn ndra).

The construction of this large synagogue is determined to compensate for the destruction of several Jewish places of worship in campaigns redevelopment of the city during the nineteenth century. It owes its name synagogue "Jubilee" to celebrate the golden jubilee of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria in 1898 Architecture The shrine contains the provisions of the basilica, ancient (main vessel surrounded by collateral ). The space is divided into two levels: a lower level, for men, and a higher level, evidenced by galleries or mekhitsa traditionally reserved for women . The interior decoration is strongly influenced by architectural trends Orientalists (set of arches ogee cusped or valances, composite capitals) and marked by a pervasive polychromy. At the back of the sanctuary, looking towards the Holy Ark (Aron Ha Kodesh), arranged in a large horseshoe arch. The vault is pierced star in the center of an oculus adorned with a stained glass window depicting a Star of David. The walls are decorated on both sides of a Biblical verse: In front of the Ark, a platform ( Bimah ) is used for reading the Torah. In contrast, at the entrance of the synagogue, a forum welcomes the great organ, designed by organ builder Emanuel tpn. References
