John P. Meier
John P. Meier is a Catholic priest American specialist in exegesis.
He was educated at St. Joseph's Seminary, where he became a Bachelor of Art (equivalent to the license) in 1964 and graduated in theology in 1968 at the Gregorian University in Rome, and finally in 1976 at the Pontifical Biblical Institute He earned a doctorate in Sacred Scripture.
He was editor of The Catholic Biblical Quarterly and president of The Catholic Biblical Association. He taught at The Catholic University of America in Washington DC
He is Professor of New Testament at the Department of Theology at the University of Notre Dame in the Indiana.
