John Everett Millais is a painter and illustrator British Pre-Raphaelite ( 8 June 1829 at Southampton - 13 August 1896 in London ).

Summary

Biography

His talent earned him a place in the school of the Royal Academy at the early age of eleven. He tied it with William Holman Hunt and Dante Gabriel Rossetti with whom he formed the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1848.

He married Effie Gray after the annulment of her marriage to John Ruskin.

From a family Jersey , he spoke Jersey , especially with his compatriot Lillie Langtry where he made a famous portrait.

He was elected president of the Royal Academy ( Royal Academy ) in 1896 In literature

In the dark of the night, a novel written in 1974, Andre Brink shows how his hero Joseph Malan is fascinated by the Falling Leaves Table of JE Millais.
